Professional Development & Technical Support
Our Approach
CSE is internationally recognized for our ability to marshal expertise and resources across the preK–12 educational continuum. In all of our efforts, we strive to foster the intellectual growth of students, educators, and leaders. To best support our clients, we seek a balance between providing technical support and conducting professional development. This work reflects the following beliefs:
- To achieve significant change, we must empower the individuals and institutions that implement effective, sustained educational improvement efforts. All of our work strives to builds the capacity of those who are engaged in such efforts.
- Developing capacity requires ongoing work and conversations about decision making, leadership, improvement strategies, implementation, and dissemination. Based on years of real-world experience in diverse communities, we understand the challenges and the complexities of such work—as well as the possibilities
- Professional development is a vital component of educational improvement programs. To advance systemic change, we must provide training and support for not only teachers, but resource specialists, principals, district administrators, university colleagues, and others who are involved in science education.
- Effective professional development and technical assistance activities are very much like good teaching. Thus, we aim to create rich, broad dialogue among our clients. We facilitate ongoing conversations that ultimately help participants make good decisions and implement effective strategies.
