Journey North's studies of migratory species include monarch butterflies, manatees, caribou, bald eagles, robins, and barn swallows. Students also track the first appearances of tulips and earthworms, as well as the ice-out of lakes and the “leaf-out” of certain tree species. Students can link directly with scientists through the Journey North Web site and can also link to additional resources that help them understand the species they are observing.
