Tool for Observing Children's Informal Science Behaviors
This section introduces an observation tool designed to help out-of-school educators, and those who train or supervise them, to be more intentional in their work with children. Professional development providers might incorporate it into their training program for the youth workers—giving frontline staff a framework within which to discuss their understanding of the skills themselves, to share stories of children working on projects, and to compare strategies for how they (the educators) should (or should not) intervene in support of the children.
