This companion piece to In-Depth Investigations of Pond Organisms Through Video provides guidance for grades 1–3 and grades 5–8 teachers for extended investigations of living pond organisms. These organism investigations are meant to extend over the whole school year, with focused activities in the fall and spring, and occasional sessions during the winter. This type of extended investigation can be used to address multiple life science standards. It can be used with the video curriculum or separately.
