High School Resources

EDC's Center for Science Education is pleased to offer an enhanced series of institutes, workshops, and services to help you present high-quality, engaging classes that meet today’s rigorous standards.

CSE’s expertise in elementary and middle school science curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, and technical assistance positions us to understand the formative experiences of students entering high school science. Our broad experience in high school science program development, curriculum design, on-site and online professional development, and teacher-leadership development gives us a deep understanding of the institutional foundations of high school science in urban, rural, or suburban communities.

We believe the best way to ensure that students will choose science is by giving all ninth and tenth graders a science program that is serious but motivational, likely to yield student success but true to rigorous standards. High schools that think of each grade-9 and grade-10 course as a gateway to higher-level courses in grades 10 and 11 will give their students the opportunity to discover the nature and potential of each of the four major science disciplines: physics, chemistry, biology, and Earth science.
