Transforming STEM Education Through Research: Making an Impact on Student and Teacher Learning

An overarching goal of the 2008 PI Meeting was to engage the DR-K12 community in addressing how their work can challenge the current thinking about STEM education. How can DR-K12 research have the greatest impact on transforming the future of STEM teaching and learning? What opportunities do DR-K12 researchers need to create or take? Throughout the meeting, with presentations, panels, discussions, poster sessions, and conversation, we examined the challenges ahead of the DR-K12 community and how we can ensure DR-K12 research has an impact on positively altering the future of STEM education.
