Erica Jablonski
Research Associate
Erica Jablonski, CSE research associate, has 11 years of research and evaluation experience. She has special expertise in selection, implementation, and management of technology programs—particularly databases and online surveys. Currently, Erica is engaged in conducting research, evaluation, and assessment work on seven CSE projects that involve the creation of and collaboration on research protocols, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and reporting. These projects include a meta-synthesis of the impact of inquiry science on student outcomes, formative evaluation and summative assessment of a high school science curriculum, an intervention study about creating science-specific accommodations for students with learning disabilities, and an exploratory research study of teacher retention at the middle and high school levels. Prior to joining CSE, Erica worked for five and a half years at EDC’s Center for Applied Ethics and Professional Practice (CAEPP) on bioethics projects. At CAEPP, she contributed to projects that contained survey and/or interview components aimed at making improvements in the fields of organ donation, pain management, gene therapy, and end of life/palliative care. Her emphasis lay in research design elements for survey and interview tools, protocols and databases systems, as well as in conducting quantitative and qualitative research activities and analyses. Before joining EDC, Erica served as the primary research assistant on The Supportive Housing Evaluation Project at the University of Massachusetts – Boston, for which she coordinated service to and evaluation of up to 19 grant funded agencies. She earned her master’s degree in applied sociology with a concentration in research methods from this same institution, and she acquired her B.A. in sociology at Clark University.
