June Foster
Senior Research Scientist
June Foster is co-PI of a collaborative research project with CAST and the University of Michigan: Universal Design of Inquiry-Based Middle and High School Science Curriculum. This project is developing a web-based software system for use in customizing science curriculum to incorporate universal design for learning supports and scaffolds. June also serves as senior research scientist of the National Science Foundation-funded curriculum development project, Foundation Science, which is producing an articulated physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science curriculum for grades 9 through 12, with accompanying professional development materials.

Prior to joining CSE, June worked at TERC in Cambridge, Mass., where she served as a center director and as project director and principal investigator of over 15 projects. Most recently, June was principal investigator of Physics that Works, which developed a full-year high school physics curriculum. Among the technology-enhanced science education projects she directed are the National Geographic Kids Network, a telecommunications-based science inquiry project, and Physical Science Courseware, a microcomputer-based laboratory curriculum keyed to the needs of learning disabled students. June was a collaborating writer of the first Massachusetts State Framework for Science and Technology.
