| Katherine Frome Paget, CSE senior research scientist, has studied science teaching and learning for 18 years and has extensive experience in research and evaluation. Kathy has been the formative evaluator for more than 20 National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) funded projects, including the on-line master’s degree program in science education (Lesley/TERC) and the Fulcrum Institute with Tufts University. Currently, she splits her time as an assessment developer and lead evaluator for the NSF-funded Foundation Science curriculum project, the UDL Collaborative project, and as a researcher on the Inquiry Science Instruction Observation Protocol (ISIOP) Development Project, Harvard RECAST, TERC Biocomplexity, and NIH Bioethics project.
Prior to joining CSE, Kathy spent 15 years at TERC in Cambridge, Mass. as a senior evaluator and was the lead writer for Owning the Questions: The Science and Engineering Curriculum Framework for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition, she served as principal investigator of Study of Place, an NSF-funded Web-based science curriculum for middle-grades students. As an assistant professor at Tufts University, Kathy taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in social personality development, social cognition, and the child and the educational process. She also served as a research associate at Harvard University and a clinical researcher at the Hall-Mercer Children’s Center at McLean Hospital. Kathy received her B.A. in English from Barnard College, and her Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Rochester. | |
